Making a decision is quite an awesome feeling....it doesn't come easily sometimes...and for some there will be regret, others it will be a relief. Beth, I can understand how you would feel about
your decision about
surgery.
I truly believe that it helps us to keep things in perspective. but only AFTER we understand and accept our own situation (subjective). We cannot negate our own "suffering" according to the measuring stick of another that we use to justify our feelings. There will always be someone else who is worse off...or eventually we might be.
I think it best we acknowledge whatever we're experiencing, allow ourselves the feeling for a while and then get on with functioning to the best of our abilities.
We never know what tomorrow will bring.....
I agree with seeing the positives and blessings in our lives along with all the other stuff. It all has to be put into a perspective that allows us to function without too much guilt or from becoming totally absorbed by our disease/disorder.
The grey area is most challenging.
