Purple butt???

Ok, this is embarrassing, but I was looking at my butt the other day and I saw a lot of purple buldges around my anus. Do you guys think they are hemmorhoids or veins? I never noticed this before. I see my GI in 2 weeks so I will tell him.

Likely they're hemorrhoids, Princess. The amount of time we spend sitting on the toilet and straining tends to bring them on for us.

sounds like hemmies to me. sitting on an ice pack can help to shrink them. if painful, a very warm sitz bath can help.
and if you get a chance to rest, try lying down on your side rather than sitting.

Sounds like external hemmies. You should definitely tell your doc...but in the meantime, apply even hydrocortisone cream daily to help get them down.

Pushing and multiple bms and gas pressure will definitely make them worse.

Here's a link that shows pics (first) of hemmies, under the hemmie pics it shows pics of perianal crohns skin tags (aka: elephant ears)...which are related to CD only.

What you're describing sounds more like it's hemmies because of the colour (perianal crohn's skin tags are basically flesh coloured)
