Going off Cymbalta, need advice-doc isn't calling me back

Hi, I am going off of Cymbalta and am starting today.  I am supposedly on the lowest dosage, I usually take one 20mg pill in the morning, I didn't take it yet today.  I called the doc and left a messsage but you know how that goes mad .  Any suggestions on how to taper off.  I know you are not doctors but I think you all have a lot of experience.  Then once my doc calls I'll double check with him.  Thanks so much, Bellski

Can you cut the pills? Or open the capsules to remove part of it? I used that approach when I tapered off of Effexor XR.

You need to be on a tapered schedule. As I recall it took me 4 weeks to safely taper off Celexa. Before beginning your taper talk with your doctor. There can be side effects of tapering too quickly even at a low dose.

Hey, Thanks for the replies. My doctor's office finally called. They said I could just discontinue and not take it at all anymore. So, I guess that is what I will do. Is my doctor wrong do you think? I hope this goes well. My husband thought I should maybe do every other day. The pills are capsuls, not able to be cut. I hope this doesn't make me go crazy, but then again I feel like I'm already crazy.lol. Thanks again, Bellski

Let me know if you have any more input, I am not really sure if I should quit cold turkey even though the doc said I could.
