Lialda is Mesalamine, the same drug that's in Asacol. The only difference is that it's coated to time-release slowly so you don't have to take it as frequently. It's in the 5-ASA family of drugs along with Asacol, Pentasa and Colazal, but it doesn't contain aspirin. Asacol has been shown through long experience to be safe during pregnancy, so Lialda should be also.
