Has anyone else experienced this before? I'm trying to figure out how many of us might experience this and whether there's a possible connection to UC.
Thanks,

What herbal meds are you taking? Some can affect the heart rate.
Anxiety can affect the heart rate.
Have you taken your pulse to find out if it's actually an irregular heart beat or does it feel like it's an irregular heart beat?
I have that.....I do have a very mild heart murmur, but my doc things it's more anxiety. Coffee doesn't affect it, however, interestingly.
Do get checked out for sure....don't leave it by assuming it's nothing..could be something actually going on with your heart.

And dehydration can cause rapid heart beat as well.

I do occasionally have weird palpitations but the only time I had a disturbingly rapid heartbeat was when I was on prednisone.. I joined a gym to try to lose the pred weight and keep it off while I was on it, and this gym offered three free visits with their personal trainer to get you familiarized with all the equipment before using it. Anyway, I was on the treadmill that tracked your heartrate, and he came over and made me get off it because it was around 200bpm and I had barely even gotten started!! I wasn't winded or anything so the guy said I had to see my doctor before getting into exercising. Needless to say that REALLY freaked me out.

I forgot about
dehydration...I don't suffer from irregular heartbeats anymore but when I did it was often and I always thought UC was the culprit, but I think suebear may have hit the nail on the head.
thanks,

Anemia... I know that when I was really bad with my blood and iron levels I would walk up four stairs and my heart would beat as though I just ran a 26.2 mile marathon. Scary.
I'm supposedly 'better' and not exactly severely anemic anymore, but, I still get the wild heart beat.
