Remicade tommorow - nervous- how long till you felt better?

Hello all - I know this has been brought up before but I start Remicade tommorow. How long did you guys wait untill you started feeling better? I have tried to go down to 15mg pred three times now and started having loose stools and blood. I have to start school in a week and I really want to get off the pred. I am 10 lbs over what I was when I left last semester and I wanted to loose a few before I started again. I know that is superficial but I am soooooooo sick of this.

Hey hana. I know how you feel. I start my senior year in high school in 9 days and I was freaking out because I gained 20lbs but my friends say they didnt really notice anything except that my face was a little chunkier. Ive already found my love so I dont really care what the others think about me. I do have horrible acne...its a lot better than what it used to look like. Like you, I too tried dropping below 15mg twice and had to go back up to 20mg. Right now im on 15mg but iv been on that for about a month. I wouldnt sweat the extra weight. Im sure your still as beautiful =] Drinking lots of water helps. I stopped drinking pop and lost a few lbs but nothing noticable. If you find anything that helps with the weight loss, let me know! lol Have you tried talking to your doctor about taking other medications to get you off the pred? Good luck and seriously dont sweat the 10lbs =]

I started with the induction, where you have the second dose two weeks after the first, the third four weeks after that, and then go to the 8-week schedule. I started seeing a definite difference right after my second dose.

It took me less than a few days to see actual results. Within a week my stools were formed agqain with minimal bleeding. After the second dose it has been fine. Although lowering pred lately has still caused problems =\
