anyone stay @ 5mg of pred for a while?

just curious if any of your symptoms went away or if you had to be completely off pred first? I'm @ 10mg right now going down to 7.5mg, Dr. says 5mg but one week @7.5 wont kill me.

i tapered really slowly and even cut my 5mg tabs in half and went down to 2.5 before going off all the way.
i believe i had to be all the way off before the side effects went away.

hope all goes well with the rest of your taper!

Ditto. The 2.5 mg dose was a bandaid for me. Hopefully you'll reach a point where you can do w/o it. / Old Hat (nearly 30 yrs with left-sided UC ... [etc.])
