Well, I called my GI and told him my flare is about
80% gone but the last 20% or so is still here. I told him I wanted to try hyrocorizone suppositories and he said ok. He called it in and I just picked it up. As soon as i paid for them I went to the bathroom and put the 1st one in. I hope this works.

Cortifoam would likely be better + no greasy ooze. If you haven't tried it, it's 10% steroid foam (looks like shaving lather) that goes in with a small reusable applicator & stays where you put it. Good luck at subduing your flare! / Old Hat (nearly 30 yrs with left-sided UC ; currently on 3 Colazal daily for maintenance of remission)

My insurance only covers generics. That's why I'm trying this, otherwise I'd try it.

I hope it works for you! Might try doubling them up to get a bit farther up. If I remember correctly, there isn't much steroid in them, so that should be okay. But of course, run things by your doc first ;)

It all depends, it can vary from person to person, even from flare to flare...and from rectal med to rectal med...I vote for the cortifoam too, worth the money in my books because it actually helps me.

pb4 & I are the Cortifoam Twins! (But the stuff really does work, does not require lying on left side, etc., etc.) / Old Hat (nearly 30 yrs with left-sided UC ... [etc.])

Ya, I especially like it because for me it works compared to anything eles I've tried and being a foam it doesn't leak out or anything from my experiance with it anyways, and I've had tons of experiance with it.

Well, I'm doing A LOT better than I was. My mucus is going away, and my urgency is about
75% better. Also, there is more form to my BM's, and no cramps. I hope this keeps up.
