My "Random Attacks", do you have?!

I call them "Random Attacks" because I have no idea what they are or when they'll strike.
For the last 2½ years I've had them. They usually happen once or twice every few months.

Here's what happens:
I get menstrual type cramps that are very sharp. They come in waves of very painful to "oh my god" painful. They burn strait through to my lower back.
It feels like I have to pee and poo. But I don't.
Some times my "girly area" is on fire, but not always. (Sorry for my immaturity)
If I do pee a little it is brownish-red.
At this point I take Tylenol and go to sleep.
When I wake up the attack is over and when I pee out my full bladder it is brownish-red.
After that wake-up pee my urine is back to normal.
If I do not go to sleep then I've had attacks that last 20-90 minutes.
They are very painful and I can not function when they strike.

No doctors know what this is. It is NOT a UTI or bladder infection because I've peed in many cups.
I've given up bothering doctors because they just tell me it's UTI/bladder infection and then I pee in the cup and it's not.
As I said, they happen every few months. If it was UTI/bladder infection it wouldn't just go away.

Brought it up with the GI about a year ago. He just says it's from the UC. But how?? I think he's stupid.

Anyone have any similar experiences or have any ideas?

I think you should see a urologist because it sounds like it has something to do with the kidneys and/or bladder going on. I found this on Wrongdiagnosis.com

Definitely get in with a urologist...it'll pay off big time. I went through the same thing...but I had endometriosis, fibroids and bladder irritations with some infections due to all happening at the same time.

Real big stones are really painful and usually have to be either crushed by laser or removed surgically but if they are small then they don't cause too much grief unless they get caught in the ueter(sp?). They come in different shapes and sizes too. To know if you have a kidney stone, you first need to see a urologist and they can do a CAT scan to see if you have one.

Edited to add: if in fact you do have stone, which btw as a Uc'er you are more prone to them - this is another extra manifestation of Uc, that a small one will be passed thru the kidney, into the bladder and then thru the urethra.  I heard that it can be extremely painful when passing a stone.  If the stone gets caught in the ueter (which is the opening from the kidney into the bladder), then it can cause bleeding and pain and requires immediate medical assistance.
