Hemmies...STILL!

I have been plagued by hemmies since I got into remission 2 and half years ago. Does anyone notice that they get them more when they are in remission than they do when they are flaring? I NEVER had them when I was flaring so I don't know what the deal is. I finally have nice poopies and I can't even celebrate them because it hurts! I'm going to have to talk to my GI again because this is just ridiculous!

I've always had a hemmie even in remission and before diagnosis. Weird for me though that it doesn't hurt me... good though. If it ever does hurt I might get surgery to remove it, but then I think maybe it would be pointless since uc might bring it on again anyways.

I dunno. I've got that weird skin tag too (which IS NOT related to CD). Maybe I have an anal fissure or something but it hurts like a mofo! Its so hard to see my GI because I'm 2 hours away from home and he's always booked up.

i'm not sure if i'm in total remission quite yet, but i am by far doing better than i was 6 months ago. i have found though that now i am having hemmies that are definately bothersome when going to the bathroom. as soonas you think you've got one thing going good another problem seems to pop up. i'd take hemmies over flaring any day though.

Sam...what are you using for your hemmies?

I have external ones plus a fissure...the hemmies have reared at this time. I'm slathering on .05% hydrocortisone cream...helping!
Do you have any rectal meds at this time at home?

I have prep-H and that helps a little. Last spring my GI prescribed hydrocortisone suppositories. I started taking them and they made me get up to use the bathroom 3 times during the night (which sucks when you're on a loft!). That's weird though because I was taking them when I was flaring and getting closer to remission and I didn't have a problem.
