How long do suppositories take to work?

How long do suppositories take to work? I did my first ones last night and have to say I lost the morning urgency almost immediately - I have some proctitis where it is bleeding from but also have a hemmie.

However, just now I just (it is 5pm here) bled with a bowel movement and had Mucous.

How do I know it's working and how long does it usually take? Someone told me if a medication is going to work, it usually does it right away.

Can someone help?

I've never had luck with suppositories, the salofalk ones that I used never did a single thing for me, that's why I speak so highly of the cortifoam.

right away is subjective.....

It's good you've seen improvement...we do suggest rectal meds for good reason.

I think it'll probably take at least a few days to get full results, although faster results are better! I started Anucort, a steroid suppository, last week and it hasn't helped much.

I think I might try out the steroid version if after 6 weeks these don't work. At first I noticed that the urgency had gone but then my other meds did that at the beginning too. Looks like this last bit of proctitis is proving tough to get rid of. God willing, I just hope these meds work.

The more severe the inflammation and more area it covers the longer it will likely take to heal with meds, so a faster acting med like steroid ones will likely prove to help faster.
