How do you know if you are in a flare or you just have a little bug? I had a baby 2 months ago and have been asymptomatic for the past year to year and a half. This past weekend I have had a terrible stomach ache with horrible diarrhea. No bleeding or anything, but have been extra mucousy recently and then BAM....terrible D this past weekend.

So how do you know if it is a flare or a bug??

Bug will subside pretty quickly if you have decent diet/exercise/low stress. Longer than week with progressively worse sypmtoms probably trying to flare up. Sucks for us at times cause we can feel like a sick person does for months and months.

So, all of a sudden? or were your symptoms somewhat changed/increasing and then diarrhea?

Hormonal changes + stress from having a baby can easily head one into a flare.

You're not on rectal meds, I'd suggest them anyway since a "bug" can have your autoimmune system triggered...you're already having diarrhea.

Oh, did your baby just have an immunisation?
