lots of mucous after prep - and it's YELLOW?!?!?

I thought this prep was going to go so well...  I made it half way through that jug without having any issues - such as the fullness feeling many of us get.  I made it through all but three glasses.  I started vomitting nasty stuff - very yellow acid/bile tasting along with some white foamy stuff.  I was able to get down one more glass after the vomit, but couldn't even think of drinking another w/o being nauseated beyond belief.  I think my GERD was very aggravated :(

Anyhow, this morning, after just passing a yellow liquid (translucent) last night, I am passing small globs of mucous this morning.  I wouldn't be very worried, but they're yellow!

I hope I didn't mess this up!  My last scope five years ago, things came out clear pretty quickly.  But I was flaring severly at the time.  This time it's very mild in comparison.

BTW - my "stomach" woke me up early this morning.  It sounded like the dinosaurs were trying to fight their way out.

I need to be at the endo center in four hours...  It's the final countdown!  (sing it!)

I think the prep is a kin to some sort of torture. Seriously - there has to be a better way! Making someone go to the bathroom 30+ times is very wrong. (Yes, I did count up to 30. After that - what does it matter? My bum is super raw and not happy with me. Thank goodness for Desitin and Aquaphor.)

I did some more reading online and did find that clear, yellow, and green clear fluids being expelled is normal. I didn't find anything about mucous though.

One interesting thing I found: A lot of centers use dulcolax AND the yucky-lyte prep. I've never had the dulcolax in addition to the PEG fluid.

Yes, the mucus is just from the colon being a little mad at you for making it work so hard. The yellow actually is from bile, and not unusual.

You're also right about the prep - it's akin to being hung from the wrists for 12 hours. Surely a country that can send a man to the moon could find a better way! Good luck with your scope, and I hope your results are good.

It wouldn't hurt to double up your Culturelle. Anything you body doesn't need, it will just get rid of naturally anyway. But I believe that it (the prep) can aggravate the bacteria count a bit.
