rash-anyone recognize this?

i wrote last time about a rash on my daughters thigh-we went to the dermatologist -he's
familiar with uc and the meds- and he said it was some kind of dermatitis and gave her a cream, well
a week later it was worse she said it was round circles and spreading on her thigh the dr back at college looked and said looked like wringworm but it didn't respond to the treatment for that
so now gastro called back today and my daughter will email her a photo of it- but does theis discription of a round wringworm like rash sound familiar to anyone?

Ringworm is a round rash. So is pityriasis rosea, which is pretty common in college students. It's a pink or red, dryish-looking ring, lots of them scattered. It may itch or not. It's treated by cortisone cream and mild soap. I had it in college; they gave me Aveeno soap and cortisone cream and told me not to bathe more than twice a week because my skin was so dry.

thanks judlilyn, i saw the photo last night and it's many pinkish spots covering the area from above her knee to the top of her thigh
ican't believe how many- she said they're itchy but not dry- she sent her gastro the picture but i will also ask about the rash you named.
i wish i could be there she has so much going on with school and this is too much i hear it in her voice-thanks

I had a similar rash that appeared out of no where! It covered the back of my legs, from my knees up to my lower back. It itched like crazy, but did not spread if i touched other areas of the body. It looked just like ringworm.

I saw a dermatologist for it and was told that it was hives???? Not really sold on that dx. Anyways, i was given a shot of cortisone and used aveeno bath (the oatmeal kind) and sarna anti itch lotion. It went away in a few days. I developed the same rash a few weeks later, in the same location, and was treated the same way.  I never got it again.....
