Just Curious.. how many cm?

does your UC cover? My last colonoscopy said I have moderate left sided UC and it covers 40cm of my colon...

how many cms does yours affect and does it make a difference how much of your colon is affected?

it used to be 25cm and now it is my whole colon.

the major difference in flares for me between the two is with the whole colon flaring, I had many more bathroom trips, greater urgency, more cramping, nausea and night bm's.

I've had it throughout the whole colon, and usually it stays around 40cm or so but the last one was about 20cm I think. However I was doing a lot better before the scope and have gotten about ten times worse since so I can't imagine what it looks like in there now.

My scope in June showed only 3-5 cm of fairly severe inflammation. My first GI said I'd be in remission in a week. No such luck. My second GI said proctitis can actually be one of the most stubborn forms to treat (just today his nurse reminded me that for the amount of inflammation, it can cause a lot of miserable symptoms). Other doctor's websites, and the experiences of people I've met here, seem to bear this out. So even a small affected area can be a real PITA!

I honestly don't know! I know that I have very little involvement now but at my worse it was to the top of my descending (a little bit over into the traverse). So I don't know how many cm's that was.

Dr said about 70% colon effected but i don't know how many cms that is.

My last scope showed inflammation for 70cm.
