Well, tomorrow is my colonoscopy - last one in June.  So much fun!!

It is not until noon so I could eat breakfast and now on clear liquids!

Later Dulcolax and then Miralax with Powerade.  I have my straw ready, ice and hope this time it stays down!!

Soon time for a nap as I know I won't be sleeping tonight.  I also know the (feeling) the news will be better than June but wish it were better - like remission but not yet!

As a fun note - I always leave a note on my counter for my husband and I to add groceries and stuff we need at Walmart, etc.  I see this morning he put "gas mask" on the list - hee hee!  The Reglan or something has given me more gas lately and not pleasant air either!  The room spray is all ready.

hate the prep! I puke and cry!! I hope yours goes better than mine. Last time I came on line here and felt so much better, I though I was not going to be able to go b/c I could not keep that nasty stuff down, but I was.

Slow and steady, you got it!

Forgot to mention that we are the lucky ones - with UC!!  My husband has lung cancer - no cure - but is in remission.  He has been through radiation, chemo, being very sick and sooooooo tired!  Yes, we are lucky to ONLY have UC.  He obviously has not lost his sense of humor but then again we have been married for 47 years.

Elaine, my one experience with Miralax wasn't the best. Next time I will stretch it out a bit, allowing a little more time between the glasses of liquid. I was sick all night, I think it was because I just took the stuff too fast.

Ew, I'm sorry you have to do prep today! I always end up getting nauseous and weak, and it makes me cry.

What I found that helped me was to have two glasses. One with just a couple of oz. of liquid and then the miralax and then next to it another glass of just my beverage. I would plug my nose and down the "shot size" of the meds and then(with my nose still tightly clamped) chug the second glass like a chaser. I still got the meds down and the fluid down, but the entire glass didn't taste like the nasty stuff. By the time I unclamped my nose I didn't taste the stuff at all. It still cleared me right out(I had the butt burn at the end and that was not fun..ouch!), but I didn't have the gag issues. Hang in there! Prep is NOT fun at all.

Jen - that sounds good but how would I know how much Miralax to put in the small glass - or did you just guess.  ElaineNY

Well, took the Dulcolax 4 hours ago and starting drinking my 64 oz. soon.

I mixed with with blue Powerade - hope the doctor sees BLUE!  LOL I tasted it and not bad but going to try that straw AND some ice.  So great for all the advice on here!  I will let you know how it goes! My husband has to drive me to hospital for noon appointment tomorrow and we are due "SNOW" - YIKES!!  Too early (not really here) for that stuff.  Road should be fine mid-day anyway.

Good idea! I'm sure the doc would object, but it seems it should work.

Also, as I've mentioned before, I wished I had not mixed the whole thing with the same beverage, because I got sick of it. (My doc suggested mixing it all up beforehand and refrigerating it overnight so it was good and cold -- also a good idea, but...).

Propel grape, try it.

I am using Powerade berry - blue!  Tastes pretty good.  Going for my first glass right now - ice and straw.  I am sure I will get very sick of it but I think it will go better than the first time I used Gatorade - yuck!

Ok, my computer time is short lived.  Had an accident already (never did that before).  I was reading more about Miralax on the internet and found this...

  After lunch, drink only fluids - anything you can read through. (Water, seltzer, black coffee, tea, vodka, Gatorade are okay.) 

DARN - I want the VODKA - NOW!  Hee hee!

So far not feeling two sick - got a ways to go.  See you all tomorrow.

Oh maybe i took a different med for the prep. I got these "vials" at the drugstore and each one was suppose to be mixed with 6-8 oz of liquid. Well I thought..why do I have to mix it? Why can't I make a shot and then a chaser? If you have to mix ALL of your prep with all of your liquid I'm not sure how you would know how much to mix with each shot..maybe just split it up equally? Anyway, I was completely cleaned out and the doc didn't say a thing about my prep so I must have been good. And I used apple juice which was actually not bad for the prep. Aside from the butt burn my prep went better than doing those horrible fleet enemas over and over again for the sigmoidoscopy. Who wants to put an enema up a sore butt? Man..I thought I would die. I actually preferred the colonoscopy prep.

Going to bed now - yes, Miralax is powder so youhave to mix.

I can't finish the last glass so hope I am CLEAN!
