This granny is very happy to report the scope went well - after not so fun night.  Nurses were not surprised at the blue stuff!

Dr. Gandhi - my gastro doc.  Said on his report - mild Ulcerative colitis confined to rectum and a few diverticula - now only 2CM.  Yipppeee!

Going to try just Proctofoam and hoping for best - that along with Align.  He thinks it will heal up the rest!!

I am very tired and have a "caffeine" headache!

Yay! I was worried you were going to be given a hard time about the blue, or even asked to come back another day! That would have been cruel.

Definitely good news! When do you go back for your biopsies?

Hope the proctofoam works for you..didn't you use it in the past?

quincy - biopsies?  Had those in June - don't think he did any yesterday.

Yes, I used the Proctofoam which helped - it was one of the first and I went to Rowasa to try to go further up.  This time he said it is localized to rectum and Proctofoam is easy for me to use and it should work.  He called it "mild" and said I could go to a stronger steroid enema if this does not work .  He wants to avoid steroids if at all possible in pill form or stronger enema. He does not like 6 MP and mentioned that I was not nearly bad enough to need anything that "strong" and with my age I sure hope he is right.

 He was very nice yesterday and very busy.  I have to call to ask about the Reglan and if I should be taking that.  Forgot!  My husband said when he said 2 cm he held up his fingers more like 5 or 6 cm. so not sure.  I like the 2 cm better. LOL

Thanks everyone for the support.  I truly feel so bad when I read the problems you "young" people on here have and truly feel thankful I did not have UC so young.  I have dealt with IBS many years, however, and it never was fun!  Doc figures I may have had a mild case of UC for a while - just happy it never "grew" to anything more.  I feel very LUCKY!  One week is our vacation trip to Vegas so getting ready for that and then hoping to get the knee surgery scheduled!  Get that over before something else hits the fan.

Beth - if you read my saga about prep you would know that is was blueberry Powerade.  Instructions said no red drink - so I chose blueberry.  It tasted good but I threw it up near the end.  I hate regular Gatorade or anything lemon-lime, etc. so thought berry was good.  Everything that come out, including some mucous was BLUE - actually, it added a little humor to the whole thing and nurses did not seem surprised so I think they had seen that before. This was a followup to June so doc knew what/where to look so of course that helped.

Elaine, 5 cm = 2 inches...that would sound about right...maybe the doc said cms but meant inches if he said 2.

Thanks Brandon and everyone.  You know at my age I feel the "urgency" (pun intended) to get into remission and stay there.  My life is shorter than most of you here.  I do wish everyone remission and FAST!!
