Dreams about Uc?

I very rarely ever dream about my Uc and I can count maybe only 2 times that I had a dream about it.  But, I had one last night.  I dreamt that I was having weird pains across my abdomen - which may of been real but I incorporated it into my dream.  So I went to my GI, he did a biospy in my throat (yes, my throat!) and declared that I had colon cancer - yeah, I know weird eh? lol 

Tell me about any weird dreams you have, if any, about your Uc.

During the worst part of my flare 2 years ago I would often dream that I had an accident in bed or out in public.  I would wake up so embarrased thinking it was real.

That's a quite weird dream! I've dreamed that I'm at a public bathroom with THOUSANDS of toilets, but every one of them is taken, so I gotta take a poop elsewhere, lol

I have had some dreams where I didn't have UC or anything down there at all, and it turned out to just be a nightmare, and then I wake up and realize that was just a dream.

Just last night I had a UC dream where I had terrible gas in a very public situation (and that's all I can remember of the dream, other than the absolute discomfort and embarrassment of the situation).

I've had quite a few poop-dreams over the yrs, infact just before I got sick was when I had my very first poop-dream and it just may have been my dream telling me what was to come.

My poop-dreams have pretty much always been the same scenerio, in a public place with lots of stalls and me going in and pooping in every one of them one by one....the last poop-dream I had bugged me though because again I was in a public place, but it was unfmailiar and I was trying to find the bathroom and when I finally did find it, it wasn't very private, you could see everyone sitting on a toilet because the stalls were so short, they only just barely went past the top of the toilet. This didn't make me very happy, but I guess what this dream was telling me is that pretty much everyone poops so what's the point in "hiding" it.

It's a shame that society dictates that pooping is "bad" or "disgusting" (well I guess it can be disgusting) but we pretty much do all do it so why the shame? It's a natural biological function and I say we should all take charge and be proud of pooping, infact from now on in public we should announce out loud to strangers "HEY, I'M GOING TO GO TAKE A POOP NOW!!!!!!"

ok, this is bizarre you should mention dreams- I've never had any sort of UC related dream, no accident in public nightmares, no pooping in public, etc. BUT- the other night, I did have this really weird dream- I basically forget it, but I do remember being in a bathroom, & the toilet was literally filled to overflowing with gross, UC-like stool- mucousy, bloody, loose, etc. And I'm standing there, looking at it- there was another person in the bathroom too. I didn't even go to the bathroom, just walked in & the toilet was like that- I think it was at a party??? Anyway, suddenly from out of the toilet bowl this thing starts to rise up- and it's a snake! A snake made from stool- yup, bloody, mucousy, slimy poop snake! And I freaked out & was like "Oh my God, look at that snake!!!" to the other person in the bathroom. And he said (I have a vague feeling it was my husband, but it wasn't) "Yeah, that's what happens when the toilet gets too full, the snake comes out of it.". And we left the bathroom & went downstairs & outside, & the snake is slithering along behind us the whole time. Very unsettling- it wasn't a good dream! And when I woke up I knew my UC had something to do with it. I had my most recent infusion a little late, & have been having a lot more mucousy, bloody expulsions. I know they triggered that wacked-out dream. My subconscious mind is doing some mighty weird stuff lately!

Wow Eva! That is one wacked out dream! LOL

I'm not surprised to hear many of your dreams revolving around bathrooms and the anxiety of getting to one in time. Sort of the whole dream resembling reality type of thing eh? Truthfully, this anxiety is what most of us have to deal with everyday unfortunately!

Yes, often in my poop-dreams I too come across pooped in toilets and would anxiously try to find one that was clean.

That's wierd. I had my first UC dream last night. I dreamt that I was stuck on the toilet with painful D and my daughter was crying in her crib. I just kept telling her that I would be right there and was cursing this disease. The dream went on to something else from there.

I ALWAYS have bathroom searches in my dreams. Often its the same bathroom, really large and institutional, with men and women in the same space but different areas, and low walls separating the stalls that might have one to three toilets in each in different arrangements, so that I'm always trying to find the most private one. And being so relieved when I find one.
That is an element in every dream I have, seeking a toilet with some privacy.

I've had a few dreams about having surgery. Not good, not bad--just that I'm lying in the hospital with a stoma.

I too have had similar dreams as to what you're describing, it's such an awkward feeling I have in the dream, everything seems so weird but I too am always looking for the most private and clean toilet to use...maybe we're passing/meeting eachother in that dream LOL.

That reminded me of another dream I had a few years back. I was in a large area that had showers and toilets in it. The floor and walls were absolutely filthy and the toilet stalls were dingy and dirty while the toilets were in even worse state. The toilets were on the short side but there was this one toilet that was surrounded by beautiful wood walls and was up on a pedastal. The stall itself was pretty large and the cleanest of them all. I wanted to use that one but for all it's beauty, the toilet itself was overflowing with feces. I had to choose between the unsightly stalls and dirty toilets over the beautiful stall with an even more overflowing toilet. The toilet itself too was up so high that half of your body was over the top of the stall. So perhaps we are all meeting each other thru these dreams! lol

Ya LOL, maybe one of us used that beautiful stall and the toilet broke and that's why it was full of feces because lord knows us IBDers believe in flushing LOL! It wasn't me though, I'll use any stall so long as it's clean, in reality of course there's not always time to be picky so I'll clean a dirty one up before I use is..gotta love those toilet seat covers.
