Some of you may have read that my husband and I are in a drug study to take Golimumab as an injection rather than IV as Remicade is delivered. Both drugs are TNF blockers meaning that they reduce the production of TNF (Tumor necrosis factor) We all make TNF. UC sufferers' immune systems make too much TNF.
The drugs, Remicade, Golimumab, etc., are proteins that block the production of TNF. SO HERE IS MY QUESTION, if they know this, that we produce too much TNF, why aren't we tested for a TNF level?
How do they know that we produce too much TNF? Who knows about this stuff? I would love to hear from you.
Thanks
