Hi everibody,

I am the mother of a newly diagnosed 20 year old son currently on a flare up. He has started taking Humira two months ago. Is anybody taking it? Has anybody seen any positive results with it?

Welcome to HealingWell, guila. Humira is a fairly new drug and is not yet approved by the FDA for UC. There are some people here who are using it with good results. Hopefully some of them will be around in this busy week before Christmas.

Hi there! I am not familiar with Humira, but I am on Remicade. I was reading posts regarding the difference between the two, and Humira is made with human protein and Remicade with mice. Either way I like the Remicade...I've had four infusions and still waiting for the big change. However, I do know that many people do very well with this drug. Why is his doctor suggesting Humira instead of Remicade?

Anyway, it's never a fun road, and I'm sorry his situation is leaning toward such a medical intervention.

I think, but not quite sure, but I think I'm the only one here who's been on Humira the longest. I've been taking it since May 2007. It works wonders! I totally love to brag about this drug. Has your son seen any effects of this drug in the positive way? I did not go onto Humira until I tried Remicade. I had a very bad response to Remicade which is why I move onto Humria. Has your son tried Remicade first before Humira?
