I am from the crohns board but they thought I might get some answers over here. My husband is positive for lynch syndrome( we also have a daughter who is positive but doing well), which gives him an 82% chance of getting colon cancer. He has had 5 pre-cancerous pylops and from the biopsies they have also said that he has colitis. After seeing 2 gastros an a colorectal surgeon in Rochester they feel my husband should have his colon removed. They will be doing the surgery laperscopic and will taking the colon out and bringing the small intestine down and attaching it to the rectum. He really wants to know what his bowel movements will be like after surgery. Will they be loose, frequency and is there an urgency after this kind of surgery. I know the surgeon could probably answer these questions but we do not see him again for a little over a month and I was hoping to be able to help find out what things will be like for him. Any help you could give would be great.
thank you. donna
