I just found this forum and its great to hear others with the same stories(great was a bad choice of words) I have been on remicade for the past year and it has been the best year of the last 12 i've lived with this horrible condition. I 've had only two flare ups in that year, I belive both were self induced one by eating raw veggies and the other from pain killers that a Dr. other than my GI perscribed. I may have to stop the Remicade due to the outrageous cost, my copay comes out to $700 every 6 weeks, I've found out the medication is $300 and the out patient clinic charges $3600 to administer it!
A lot of the things I've read here I've lived, so its nice to know I'm not the Lone Ranger. I recently have stopped eating meat, fish and all dairy products, only eating plant based foods. I am going through a flare up due to the pain killers, so physicaly I feel good no real gut pain and all the other things that go with a flare up, my question is has anyone tried this sort of diet or heard of such athing as UC being a meat eaters disease.
