cost of Canasa suppositories?

Just wanted to know what will be the cost of Canasa suppositories? My GI's nurse just called up and asked to to start with canasa after my sigmoidoscopy/biopsy last week.
Also, she told me that i have mild inflammation and i need to start canasa... does this mean i have IBD? This was the first time i have had any tests/camera done.

Sounds like you have inflammation in your rectum. It would probably be proctitis if the GI prescribed Canasa. I was prescribed Canasa after my sigmoidoscopy and I was diagnosed with Proctitis. The Canasa helped a lot. It is actually very expensive. It used to cost me a lot even with insurance. I order from Canada now, they call it Salofalk there. I pay about the same without insurance as I paid with it. US pharmacies are kind of a rip off imo. A sigmoidoscopy can only view a small part of your intestines so I don't think they can give the most accurate diagnosis with a sigmoidoscopy. Not too sure though.

i m new to IBD, infact i do not exactly know what i have - all i know is it mild inflammation and i need to use Canasa - while sigmoidoscopy i did see that area - there was no inflammation as the scope moved higher up.
All these diseases - get along so much physical pain /suffering and added on to it is $$$ which just fly away! :-(

When I was on it, I paid $45 because that is the highest drug copay with my insurance. It was marked $600 or $800 full price though I think. I can't remember exactly.
