My stomach used to get really big after I ate certain foods. I have IBS. I now take Beano and Lactaid and limit or avoid foods that give me gas. These include:
Certain vegetables (asparagus, broccoli, brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, cucumbers, green peppers, onions, peas, scallions)
Dairy (milk, cheese)
Foods high in fiber (beans, certain breads and cereals)
Foods with HFCS (many packaged/processed foods, many beverages, many condiments)
Foods high in fructose (honey, dried fruit, sundried tomatoes, maraschino cherries, BBQ sauce, sweet and sour sauce, jam, grapes)
Foods that contain fructose and sorbitol (prunes, pears, apples, watermelon, peaches)
Artificial sweeteners (sorbitol, mannitol, xylitol, isomalt,...)
Spicy foods
Deep fried foods
