My last colonoscopy was two and a half years ago and preceded hospitalization as I was in a major flare. I was so bad I can't even remember any details, all I know is that it was an oral 'Fleet' prep.
I'm getting my next scope tomorrow at 2:30pm. I'm taking the purgative 'Pico-Salax' and took my first sachet at 6pm. (my 2nd will be 6am tomorrow).
According to the instructions I have to drink eight glasses of water/clear fluid for the two hours after the 'potion'.
The package says it should start to work in 3 to 4 hours (it's now 8:15pm) so I expect to be on the throne in an hour or so.
My question is: What is the normal approximate duration of the 'bathroom event(s)' Should I expect to be running to the toilet all through the night, or will it just last an hour or two?
Thanks in advance.
