2 years since first sick with UC

When I first came down with this crazy disease, the symptoms started showing 2 years ago this past week. I was working on moving into my current apartment, plus it was close to my birthday too. Isn't that lovely? Developing Ulcerative Colitis during an important time in your life? Boy! 2007 will be a memorable year due to this thing. This time of the year is very busy for my husband and I. Two birthdays and a Wedding anniversary. In 2007 I was sick through all of it. I was hospitalized on the week of my hubby's birthday, and was in there til after Easter (25 days). I got diagnosed in the hospital. Now I have been in remission for going on 2 years in May. Now this time of year marks more to celebrate than before I got sick. Gotta be thankful for remission, but still cautious. Hopefully there isn't more additions to this time of year like children, maybe our children will be born later in the year so it's not that cramped.

I'm just thankful I'm in remission because when I was very sick in the hospital, my hubby was in college, and me being in the hospital didn't help him with school. As of right now, he's so close to done, we don't want anything to hinder him finishing. I'm actually surprised how long I've lasted in remission, and wonder when it will come back, but still thankful. We want to start trying for a baby sometime this year, maybe early next year depending on my hubby mostly.

     Last May 3rd my husband had to take me into the hospital because the flare had gotten so bad...this was our 39th wedding anniversary..lol.  Also I missed my grandson's 1st Holy Communion that day too!  Bummer!
