Mezavant: Anyone choke to death?

I just switched from six 500mg Salofalk tablets to two 1200mg Mezavant tablets a day. The 1200mg tablets are huge, and I have difficulty swallowing some larger pills. The first two went down well, even though I was apprehensive.

Anybody have any experience with Mezavant? Seems like another 5-asa. One of the side effects could be diarrhea, which would in my case go unnoticed as that's the condition I'm trying to treat. What's up with that?

Here's hoping for remission.....

Mezavant is time-release Mesalamine, the same drug that's in Salofalk. The difference is that it is time-released so doesn't have to be taken as often.

All of the 5-ASA drugs can make your symptoms worse if you are one of the significant minority of people who are sensitive. I can't take Mesalamine at all, but can tolerate Balsalazide.

I have trouble swallowing pills if they are large and aren't in a capsule. I have a narrow throat. I have to chew them.
