Hi, I was wondering if anyone has tried both of these drugs and is there much of a difference? Also any experience good or bad with these drugs you would like to share.
I lost my insurance from work (laid off) and Asacol is just too expensive so I ordered Mesren from Canada, basically same thing as Asacol, but it is made in the UK and a lot cheaper.
My story:
I got told I have colitis back in December 08, and put me on Asacol. At first it made me worse then after about
2 to 3 weeks it finally got me back to normal for a while. Then in February I was getting constipated and some mucus and aches in colon area and some light pains by my genreal kidney area, so I cut back on Asacol. I felt great the next day and no mucus or aches, taking probiotics as well. about
the 4th or 5th day I noticed some mucus again, slowly increasing and getting worse. So back on Asacol I went. So far it has been about
4 days and my symptoms have only got worse, worse than was in December. I am considering switching to Mesren just to see if it works better. I still have a bottle of Asacol left.
I just started on Vitamin D, I know I don't get enough of that. I also ordered some Boswellia extract, folic acid and B12. Currently trying Danactive yogurt and Acidphilis pearls.

Ah thanks, that is good to know. Now if I can just get this flare up under control and my car fixed, I could be happy again
