Solumedrol-Need quick responses while in the hospital.

Please let me know what dose of solumedrol your were on during hospital stays.   Did they start you at one dose and increase or decrease?  What dose worked for you.  Was your condition more stable when you left the hospital?

I was on 20mg every 8 hours while in the hospital. When I went in I was on 15mg pred/day. When I got out I started at 40mg pred/day. Once they put me on 20mg every 8 hours after my endoscopy they left me at that level until I left the hospital. I was in the hospital due to severe anemia that they attributed to a severe pancolitis flare after my cscope (even though my UC was getting better).

thanks for that info.  i could use more similiar experiences.  this is the 4th hospitalization here, but the last one was 8 years ago.  the doctors are different and we are having a difference of opinion on treatment.  5 days in the hospital so far and no change for me and no change in course of action...discouraging!

are they keeping you on liquid diet or low residue? are they giving you any pain medication or photonex for gas/indigestion? do they offer any sleeping aids/anti anxiety? the IV steriods whacked me out completely. i couldn't sleep without ambien.
