Wow, throwing away $6K of good Colazal was hard.

It's so sad to have to throw away so much good Colazal. I received several large bottles from my insurance company, then ended up having surgery, so I don't need them anymore.

I tried EVERYWHERE (and spent a lot of time) trying to help someone else by giving these away. It was all fresh and new, but there was no seal under the lids when I got them. So in the trash it goes.

Kind of hard to feel sorry for people who can't afford pharma's when no one will accept them when offered. nono

I know the feeling. I had to do the same thing when I switched from Asacol to Colazal. I had many many bottles of Asacol. It is such a shame really but all it takes is one dishonest person to make the world leary and the rest has to pay the consequences. :(

Not as sad as I am. We have a 5k deductible, and pay for Colazal out of pocket. Wish I could have had it!

I've been getting everything for free through patient assistance programs. It's incredible the deals you get when you have no insurance. I would be paying more if I had insurance. Canasa was $150 with insurance. I pay $2 now.

patient assistance program? how do you get on that?

You go to the website of the medication and find out who manufacturers it. Canasa is Axcan, Asacol is Proctor and Gamble. You have to be uninsured and a US citizen I think. Some of them make you prove you have low household income, some don't check. You fill out paperwork and next thing you know you get free prescriptions. Your doctor will have to fill out some paperwork for you stating that you need the drugs and how many refills.

I've tried so many meds. that haven't worked for me that I've had to throw away. It's a shame that I wasted my money on them and had to end up throwing them away. :(
