Hi! I saw Dr. Klein today. He was really nice and so was his staff, even the girl in the lab was a sweetheart. I saw him at his Huron Valley office (it's only 15-20 minutes from me).
Anyway, I'm going to start back on 6MP (I'm ditching the LDN since it gave me really bad body aches), I'm also going to try Lialda. I never had any luck w/the ASA meds but it's been years since I tried them and he thinks I might not have given them a chance???? We'll see...maybe in combination w/the 6MP, I'll have better luck. Lialda isn't one that I've tried because of it being newer so maybe I'll get lucky and it will work for me. His nurse ran down to the lab where I was having my blood drawn and gave me a 12 day supply of samples which I thought was really nice of her to come and track me down to give them to me.
So for now the game plan is 6MP, Lialda, and cortenemas. He wants to see me back in a few weeks to see how I'm doing and to do more blood work.
He mentioned Remicade which I told him I'm not comfortable with but he made me feel a little better about it and we'll keep it on the back burner for now. He's the first doctor who did not mention surgery except to say that he wants to save my colon.
He told me about 5 or 6 times how nice it was to meet me. He called my "honey" a few times too. Normally I don't like when men do that but in this case it felt very comforting and I wasn't bothered by it at all.
Thanks for the recommendation, I'll keep you posted on how things are going. Aren't you scheduled for a colonoscopy with him soon? I haven't had one in 2 1/2 years but I had a sigmoid last year. He didn't mention doing one (I really don't want one but I'm probably due for one) so I'll probably bring it up at my next appt.
