Getting drugs from Canada/cheaper alternatives to Asacol

I've been taking Asacol for my UC and it's been working great, however, my insurance doesn't cover much of it and I'm worried I'm going to have to stop or get it changed due to cost-the insurance I have doesn't cover enough of it to make it anywhere near affordable, and I'm currently paying almost as much for my meds as my rent.

I've seen some Canadian pharmacy sites that have the drugs at a discounted price. Are these reliable? Also, if I order from these, do you recommend brand name or generic?

Also, if I can't order from these, what are alternative treatments that might be cheaper/better covered?

Have you tried Lialda? There is a loyalty program card that you might be able to get from your DR which caps the payment at $25

MustLoveDogs-I was diagnosed really recently, so Asacol and Pred are the only only things I've ever been on. Is Lialda also mesalamine, or is it a different drug? Also, is it oral or suppository?

Zippy-My boyfriend found that site, nice to know you've had no issue with it. Now, if I have a script for the brand one, would it be okay to order the generic one? I've heard that brand and generic preparations of mesalamine can differ greatly.

Lialda is also a mesalamine, it's just coated differently, making it extended release, and you therefore only have to take it once per day.
