My GI doctor gave me some Rowasa Enemas a in January or so and i used them for 7 weeks. He said he didnt want me using Rowasa for more than 8 weeks and took me off of them. Now i am in a flare up and i am not sure if i should use them or wait for an appointment and talk to him. And if i do use it how long should it be for? confused

Is it a GI you're seeing ?

Welcome to the forum.Where in the colon is your UC..throughout or limited?

What other meds are you on...oral 5ASA as well?

What exactly is Mylan...? for blood pressure?

YOu can use the Rowasa for a long while...and they should be tapered to a maintenance dosage....

What was the alternative your doctor suggested to you?

Well for 1 Mylan is a medication for colitis
All my colon has it
No alternative suggested
Yes it is a GI
All my meds are in my signature
I was just wondering if my doctor hasnt told me to use them should i?

Singnrun, Mylan is a manufacturer of a lot of different generic drugs, not a specific medication. Do you know which one you are taking?

I'd use them, but I've been dealing with this for many yrs so I pretty much know when it's time for rectal meds and when it's not, the longer you wait the worse it may get which usually means it'll be harder to clear up...go with your gut insticts.
