So I was sitting at dinner thinking of things that my UC has been an inconvience to (as life in general isn't enough), and this is what I've come up with so far and I'd love to hear some of your stories..but have you ever been at work and wished you could move your desk into the restroom with you?? Or have you ever been eating dinner and had to finish your meal on the pot?? Love that one!!! What else....

Eating on the toilet, that seems counter productive. I have joked many times that they should just put a desk in front of the toilet at my work. The best is trying to figure out how long it takes to get from point A to point B, checking google maps, and then wishing it had an IBD feature to allow time for multiple potty breaks.

I still sometimes have to stop while eating to use the can (I really hate that), nothing like sitting on the toilet chewing away on your supper) I'm amazed that it doesn't ruin my appetite, but I guess considering I don't really eat a ton of food on a daily basis I'm thinking that could be why it doesn't ruin my appetite, that or the fact that after 18 yrs I've just adjusted...how sad.

I've been disappointed so many times when I've had to take a potty break in the middle of a great restaurant meal, to return and find they took it away while I was gone!

Business dinners or banquets, didn't dare make a fuss, just sucked up my disappointment.

With family and friends I've learned to say, don't let them take away my food!

I have had to take my poor babies in the restroom with me to nurse. I am so glad they don't realize what's going on.

I also have to leave my hubby in the middle of conversations, telling him to hold that thought...

I often take the phone in the bathroom to make my calls while I sit. Of course, I cover the phone if it gets noisy. I will NOT let this illness steal my time. I hate how it did for a while, but now I have learned to take something in the restroom with me to do so I can still be productive.

I used to wonder how people could sit in the bathroom and read for minutes on end. I used to go in, do my business, and be done in about 2-3 minutes. Now, with UC, I have plenty of reading material on the tank of the toilet. I will be a genius at the rate I am in there now. I was just reading something about how the brain works tonight!

One other area of UC inconvenience would definitely be in limiting spontaneous intimacy. I have to be strategic about what time I use my nighttime enema. "Not tonight, Honey. I just inserted my meds." shakehead

LOL, I always get a cramp right in the middle of my wife telling me something. Maybe it's intentional!

Feeding the baby in the morning sometimes takes place on the can. I have eaten breakfast there before. I have been in the middle of doing a patient exam many times and had to excuse myself. Worse is trying to develop an xray and just sticking the film in the processor and getting that sudden cramp. Have to wait at least 30 seconds for it to get in, but that's a lifetime. I have since allowed myself the option of using the trash can there, so that takes the anxiety away. Had to excuse myself right in the middle of you know what on my honeymoon night, lol. Talk about a mood breaker.
