Because Uc can cause body wide inflammation and our joints can get inflammed along with our colon.

On the flip side I think body wide inflammation in some people can cause flare symptoms. Like me for example, I had achy joints before I ever got UC and after UC, my joints usually ache more during a flare so I am not sure what's the cause or effect, but there can be some kind of relationship with inflammation throughout the body.
This weekend my right knee started feeling horrible. It hurt so bad last night it bothered my sleep. I've got 4 ideas why, and I don't really blame it on my UC. I went out of town this weekend and these 4 things were different than my usual routines at home.
1) I didn't eat any vegetables
2) I didn't drink that much water
3) I slept an a cold room by an a/c
4) Driving long distance irritated it.
