Do you get fever with a c-diff?

I'm going to the doctor today to try to figure out what the heck is wrong with me. I was feeling great for 2.5 weeks then
I had my Remicade and the next day I'm running fevers which were as high as 103 with the chills last night and for the past
few days I'm rushing to the bathroom at least 10 times a day (no blood). I don't know if that's because I just tapered down my pred to 10mg
(I was originally on 40 and have tapered 10 a week). or if I have a virus, reaction to remicade, or c-dff I'm so tired of not feeling well!

I'm sorry you're not feeling well.  Yes, you can have a fever with c.diff.  The symptoms are so close to UC, it's hard to tell the difference without stool tests.  My big issue when I have c.diff is all the blood.  I'll go to the bathroom 15-20 times a day and it's mainly blood.  I hope you can figure out what's going on and get some relief soon!!

I imagine your symptoms are more likely due to the pred taper and not C. diff. Have you been on antibiotics lately? I can't remember. Anyway, I do knw that C. diff is becoming more common in hospitals, so it would be good to get a stool sample done. Hope you feel better soon!

Symptoms of pseudomembranous colitis (C-Diff) include:

Diarrhea
Abdominal cramps and pain
Fever, which may be higher than 101 F (38.3 C)
Urge to have a bowel movement (fecal urgency)
Pus or mucus in your stool
Nausea
Dehydration

You can also get a fever from UC as well so it's good you're going to see your doc.

I also had a high fever (although not dangerously high) when I had my second colitis flareup. I mistakenly thought I was going though menopause, because I would wake up sweating.

I most likely got my flareups from antibiotics, and therefore had C-diff.

I was also passing tons of blood clots.

My doc did a blood culture, a CBC, a chest xray, urine,. He does not think its a sinus infection and didn't mention c-diff. They
were leaning toward a Remicade reaction and he gave me an s shot of a broad spectrum antibioticm I have to go for this shot every day until they
get the results of the blood cultures.
