Help with clothing after ileostomy

Emergency surgery no offer to select the stoma location, it is right by or below his belly buttom exactly where his jeans and or belt would sit. Any suggestions on how to alter jeans to work around this. Also how much pressure can you have on the bag under clothing? He seems to think it has to have no pressure or obstruction so he is wearing jeans that are way to big for him and using suspenders. We are just starting to think about clothing now, he had his surgery last Nov but has been so ill that ws the least of our worries. I guess things are looking up if I am asking these questions.

I'm not sure how old your husband is, but American Eagle makes a couple of styles of jeans that fit pretty low on the hip. They have like a dip to them in the front even. My son wears them (he hasn't had surgery, though) and they sit pretty low. I hate to hear that he had such a rough time that he ended up with emergency surgery! Glad to hear he is feeling a bit better. Will he eventually go on to the j-pouch or is that not an option?

Hopefully people with first hand knowledge with chime in.

Its fine if the pants sit on the stoma! They wont hurt it. . But i wear clothes that fit across mine sometimes. And they dont have to be loose, i wear panty hose (i dont think your husband would wear those, lol) and tight pants and its fine. you just have to empty a little more often. Anyway, i wear exactly the same clothes as before.
And if he is having a really hard time with it, then the dr can do a surgery to place it lower. Might want to check into that.
