Remicade and Anitbiotics

Hey All!
I have my 4th Remicade infusion coming up on May 26th and have recently run into a little bit of trouble. I have been struggling with a cold for the past week now and cant seem to shake it off. Today I developed an ear infection and the doctor prescribed me some antibiotics to take for the next 10 days. Now I remember hearing somewhere that I am not suppose to take antibiotics for 10 days prior to and 10 days after my remicade infusion.... is this true? If I start the medication today... it would take me right till the day before my infusion. Will have I have to postpone my infusion? If I do take the antibiotics... what will it do if I recieve my Remicade anyways?
Any information that anyone has for me about this topic would be great! Im at a loss for what to do.

I have heard something about that as well. I don't know the details either I would check with your GI. I know that every time I go to get my infusion they ask me if I have been ill at all. I was wondering if you have tried any natural cures for your ear infection? Here are some ideas if you are interested. I have successfully gotten over lots of sinus infections with the use of more homepathic method which has made my life a lot easier:) I wish you the best.

You can go to your local health food store do you have a Vitamin Cottage or Whole foods where you are?

I don't think you should have a problem, but do check with you doc. I usually try to ask for Zpack which is a quick course of antibiotics; it's hits it strong, but it's a shorter duration of time I have to take them. I email my doc some unusual questions but I always feel better after I ask!
