I suffer (as I'm sure many others do here) from hemmies and having IBS/IBD sends them into a very painful and bleeding state.
Anyone have any helpful hints or remmidies to share?
Thanks

Analphram - its a cortosteroid cream and it works wonders! The OTC stuff cannot touch it... It works in seconds and lasts... a godsend...

Are they internal or external? I too recommend some sort of steroid cream or suppository. I have them too - internal - but they are small according to my GI. But I tell ya, they don't feel small at times!!

Thanks for the feedback.
I have been prescribed the creams and suppositories and have found that using a bidet after each BM makes a huge difference as do using tucks pads (witch hazel). Stool softner also helps when needed as my stool can be hard from time to time which really irratates the hemmies. Prep H suppositires are also good and do not contain any steriod...I am relactant to use too much cortisteriod since I take corti foam already.

I had really bad hemmies after having my son and of course all of the diarrhea once the UC started made them even worse. The only thing that really helped with the pain was to take a bath and make the water as hot as I could stand it.
