I had a colonoscopy today at UPMC Presby in Pittsburgh with my new GI. Findings were left-sided only.... My question is - the last time I had a colonoscopy I was told I had pancolitis....now left sided only. Can UC spread, then retract? To me todays findings were good news I suppose. He took biopsies, and there were no polyps. I have to wait to find out if any of the biopsies are abnormal. The UC is mild to moderate left sided.... Just wondering if anyone else has had pancolitis, then have it retract to left sided?
One note - this GI doesnt like to knock you out fully...I was aware during the procedure which kind of sucked actually...quite uncomfortable....He said he would rather have me aware to help avoid a perforation... The Fentnyl was good stuff, and I was pretty loopy, but not fully unconscious as I have been with other GI's in the past...
