I am just curious if anybody knows of some new and exciting medicines in the pipeline for Crohns/Colitis.  Nothing seems to be working and looking for a little hope.

Helminthic therapy is some pretty amazing stuff, just wish it would get started by a reputable company and okay'd by the FDA. Stem cell research is in the pipeline but probably far off.

Do you know anybody who has done the Helminthic Therapy.

Renee told me yesterday in a thread about using immodium that she is in a drug trial for a drug that would deliever the pred. directly to the colon so the rest of the body would not get the wonderful pred. side effects. It's called Colal-Pred. I liked the sounds of that.

Yes I read about this trial. It is just prednisone pill that has a protective cover to stop the stomach from digesting. It gets to the colon as a topical agent. But there probably still is some systemic absorption. Similiar to Asocal.
