Finally back to work (again)

Many of you know that I had my first J-pouch surgery last October 20 and the second and final surgery January 21. After being off work for almost 6 months straight I went back to work half days April 14. After about one week I developed an anal fissure and had to stop working again. Today I finally went back to work again. I will be working half days this week and may start full time next week. My fissure is much better although I do have some slight discomfort during bowel movements. I can finally say that my condition is better than before surgery. My energy level is about the same, I have about 4 or 5 BM’s per day with mild urgency compared to 7 to 10 with extreme urgency before surgery.  In fact last week I had 2 days in a row with only 3 BM’s each day. I have not woke up once in the last 2 weeks to go to the washroom. Before surgery it was very rare to not go overnight.

Glad to hear you are feeling well enough to go back to work, Paul. That's great news, and as Old Hat said, don't push yourself and take it easy. You've been down a long road my friend, and now you deserve to coast. Cheers!

Thanks everyone, I stopped the meds for the fissure a couple of weeks ago because it was making it worse. I thought of doing the sitz baths but being stubborn about it I never bothered. It just healed itself by doing nothing. I think it was all the TV I watched that healed it. Lol. I have to get back to full time work soon. My 100% sick leave just ran out and I’m now on 75% pay.
