What you describe is not unusual. If you're back up to 20x a day, I'd talk to your doctor about
bumping back up on pred for the time being. What other meds are you on?
Have you tried any supportive therapies like omega3 supplementation to reduce inflammation or probiotics? What's your diet like?
In my experience, the key to reducing or getting off meds is addressing all the other factors: removing or reducing stress in your life, reducing inflammation, healing the gut, rebalancing healthy gut ecology and removing offending foods from your diet.
