How many infusions of Remicade does it take for most before they start noticing a significant improvement in there UC signs? I have my second infusion this Friday and I'm hoping to notice some improvement from the treatment. Are most of you able to go to work after the treatment. My treatment is scheduled for 8:30am Friday.

For me, I didn't see much improvement until after my third infusion. Slight improvement after my second, but not the relief I was hoping for. Yes, I always could work right after my treatments.

how significant of an improvement did you notice after your 3rd transfusion? Are you still receiving Remicade treatments and have they kept you in full remission?

I didn't notice a significant improvement until my 6th infusion.  From that point on, it got better and better.

Keep hanging in... it will work!

Thanks for the feedback. I hope to notice some added benefits before my 6th infusion, but time will tell! I'll keep you posted.

BOOM, I was in remission after the first one. I've had two, third one is tomorrow.
I can work after, no problem. Just noticed I'm tired for a day a two, take naps after work.

I'm still getting Remicade but it is not keeping me in remission right now. Once I get my next Infusion in 2 weeks I will have it every 6 weeks. I noticed pretty much complete remission after my third treatment - not right away but within a week of receiving it. I also started getting allergic reactions to it though - watch out for those - Benadryl works wonder for those.

everyone...thanks for your responses! They are tremendously helpful, inspiring and encouraging. I'm confident that my 2nd infusion on Friday will go well. Thanks again!

I too was in remission after my first infusion; been having those infusions for four years now with no side effects. I was taking Benedryl when I first started infusions, and then switched over to Loratadine (Claritin) or Zyrtec because either of those didn't leave me drowsy. By the way, welcome  to the forum, and let us know how your next infusion goes! :-)
