1-a-day asacol

Dear All,

Is there a viable asacol that can be taken once a day? Right now I take 400mg Asacol 3x a day.

Both Lialda and Apriso can be taken once a day, have the same active ingredient (mesalamine) as Asacol, and are formulated to dissolve so that the whole colon is treated.

Apriso reportedly contains aspartame-- so you might want to double-check that if you're trying to avoid artificial and/or nonessential sweeteners. / Old Hat (30 yrs with left-sided UC ... [etc.])

You could take Lialda. I think the total dose of one Lialda pill is 1200mg. If you take 400mg 3x a day, you should be ok on one Lialda. I take 3/400mg Asacol 3x a day. I would need to take 3 Lialda. Still better than taking 9 pills of Asacol but it's not too big of a deal to me.
