i come to know if the medicine would work if i get the result the very next day. Any medicine which does not show improvement the next day usually doesnt work for me. Are there others as well who feel like me. lets have a poll to check if we have other to match the number of days we take to react to a medicine.

Can't really answer that without specific medicine.  Prednisone took about 4 days for a difference.  6 MP will and is taking months.  Rectal meds can take one day or a week.  Too hard to answer.

I agree with Elaine about it depending on the medicine. Asacol (oral) was my first med, and I had a *very* slight improvement after a week. Rowasa (enema) made a pretty big difference within a few days. Pred made a HUGE difference the next day.

If you're talking about Lialda, definitely give it a week or two at the very minimum to start making a difference.

When I first started Asacol, I remember being significantly better within a week or two. It was slightly better each day but then I had a minor relapse and it slowed down my progress. Don't get down, you will feel better soon. Give it some more time and go up to 1200mg 3x a day if you need to but don't rush. You can always increase.

Colitis medications work right away if it is the first time I've ever taken them. However, my body quickly adjusts and the medicine stops working. Alternative treatments; such as probiotics, fecal transplantation, and diet; also work right away. And they don't stop working.
