Going back on the prednisone

Well, I tried to persevere as long as possible without going back on that dreaded prednisone. Yesterday wasn't too bad but I don't know whether it was something I ate or what...only low residue, but today I am in a tizzy and we are scheduled to go up to PA. I already went to the bathroom in excess of six times and it isn't even quite 10 am. No blood, thank God but terrible urgency. I called my GI doctor and he said to start at 20 mgm for one week and then 10 mgm the next. I see him on the 23rd to discuss the biopsies he took when I was sigmoidoscoped. I really don't think the 20 mgm is going to do much but I will follow his orders. He knows how the prednisone raises my blood pressure. Oh well, maybe once up at the campground I can sit back and relax and read my books.

Christine i see you live in South Jersey...which GI DR do you see?

Sorry this has happened to you. Hope the prednisone does the trick - and FAST! I am still on 10 mg. and 50 mg. 6 MP until I see the specialist next week. This morning I had to go 5 times - no D and for the first time in weeks - NO BLOOD! However, it could have been there but at least I didn't find any with my flashlight LOL!

Hope you can enjoy your trip - relaxing may help but be very careful about your diet too!
