Increasing dosage of 6mp

I met with my GI today and he let me know that my blood levels were satisfcatory and that he wants to increasse my dosage of 6mp to 100mg a day (was on 50mg). 

Does this seem normal to you all?

Also, he let me know that my liver enzyme levels are perfect for the first time since I've been diagnosed!

100mgs is on the high side but it's not unheard of. I take 100mgs two days of the week and 50mgs on the rest. In my case though, I won't be able to tolerate 100mgs more then twice a week due to a couple slightly high liver enzyme readings in the past. How have you been feeling?

Hey Red!

I feel great, only because my GI put me on Pred while the 6mp kicks in.  I started the 6mp on May 4th so I;'ve got sometime before it kicks in.

Should i take both 6mp pills (50mg's each) at once or should I spread them both throughout the day.  I currently take my 1 pill (50mg) at night.

I just started 6MP yesterday... My dr said for 2 weeks I take 1 (50mg) then after that point I take 2 (total of 100 mg) I am also on prensone... 2 weeks ago I was in hospital for 5 days on IV..... last week I was on 80 mg of Prensone...this week is 60mg...next week is 40 mg etc

Was def scared about this...bc I never heard of this drug before...esp since it's used in cancer patients...but apparently it's helps UC too..... In a month I have to check my blood to see how I do.....

Have you experienced any good or bad side effects from the 6MP I really appreciate hearing back
I also take 3 lialdas a day

When I take my 100mgs, I take both before I go to bed. I don't think it really matters. In fact, my GI told me that I could stagger them or take them both at once now that I think about it. LOL It's been a while since I've been at that dose :)

I'm glad to hear you are feeling better and I will cross my fingers that the 6mp kicks in for you soon so you can get off the pred.
