Anyone have any luck on 100mg of 6mp

Has anyone had any luck while on 100mg of 6mp?  My GI increased my dosage to 100mg last Thursday after my blood tests came back "satisfactory" while on 50mg for about a month.

I've heard that the side affects are pretty nasty when the dosage is increased...I havent really had any yet (knock on wood) but I've only been on the higher dosage for 4 days.

I am currently on 125mg and am having no luck. I am starting Humira next week along with 125mg of 6MP and 30 mg of pred. If none of this works, I am opting for surgery. I can longer take the agony and pain on this crap. I do commend those who have dealt with this for years, bbut this crap is stripping me of my freedom and life. I was just hospitalized for over a week last week and before that was in and out 3 times bbecause of dehydration etc. Good luck to you. Sometimes a stronger dosage will be sufficient. Be aware though it may take a month or so to kick in. You have to give it time.

I'm sure you remember me telling you that I was at 100mgs twice a week while 50mgs the rest...but I just wanted to say that yes I did notice an improvement after upping my dose. I hope you get the most out of this med and it puts you in remission. Good luck! :)

Wondering about increasing to 75mg. for a while.  That is what the doctors here do- others besides mine.  I am on 50 mg. and cannot tolerate more.  Just one day makes me so sick - I tried every other day and was sick all day after taking 75 mg. - nausea, headache, dizzy!  Prometius tests showed that was not enough for me but I can't take more.  My doctor is hoping it still might kick in and I can eliminate the 10 mg. prednisone. Been taking 6 MP since end of Feb.  I also cannot tolerate mesalamines or enemas.  Oh well!  I see a special specialist in Albany Medical center this week.  Hope he has some other help for me.  No doubt my age may be one of the problems - with hypertension and arthritis.  Very glad that I NEARLY in remission with tiny blood and mucous and occasional urgency.  Mostly proctitis and little left-side.  I will not have surgery.

Please, I've been on 150 mgs for a long time now. I did notice improvement in my symptoms, but it took awhile. The side effects were noticeably worse too, but that evened out over time also. Take it all at once, before bed, & you should be ok.

Thanks everyone...hopefully it kicks in soon.  Today a was a little rough...I was extremely tired during the first part of the day and ditn know if I was going to make it but has work got busier it totally went away...thank god.

I hope this works!
