Prednisone and swelling

Hello,

I have now been off of prednisone for two and a half weeks, yet my ankles and feet continue to painfully swell up every day. This never happened to me before I went on prednisone. Does anyone know if this is normal? I'm starting to worry because it seems like a really long time, not to mention the fact that my ankles are very tender and sore.

All I know is that both my ankles and knees swelled after taking prednisone. I still have some residual swelling in my ankles and I have been off that rascally 'roid for about 3 months.

that would be the salt and water retention

Make sure your blood pressure is under control. My bP goes up significantly while on prednisone and I have to take water pills in addition to my regular blood pressure pills.
